Assemblage sculpture with found objects and repurposed materials
This artwork is about my first pet, Catita. I was 6 years old, and meeting her was a gift to my childhood that filled me with excitement. The top part with the golden hardware represents reality, or adulthood. Inside the glass box, the girl stands atop a golden leaf, symbolizing how this memory keeps hovering in my heart. As my first animal companion, Catita remains here with me, always.
