Terra Firma
Assemblage sculpture with found objects & LED lights
12x24.5x7.5in
The title Terra Firma is from Latin, meaning solid ground.
Terra for the Romans was the “goddess of the earth”, and also in Portuguese means (planet) Earth.
I created this piece mainly thinking about Nature, more specifically about the realm of Flora.
I wanted a stable structure using the parts that I had in mind and it took me a lot of time to solve the puzzle.
In the end, the name - Terra Firma - was already there waiting for me, as a perfect title.
